How to Make a Free Website With Google Sites (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: Start a New Site
Visit sites.google.com and sign in with a Google account. Click the plus button to start a new blank site, or choose from the small template gallery for a faster start.
Step 2: Build Your Pages
Add a title, then use the Insert panel to add text boxes, images, embedded Google Docs or Forms, and layout sections. Google Sites automatically arranges elements onto a responsive grid, so there's little manual formatting required.
Step 3: Set Up Navigation
Add additional pages from the Pages tab in the right-hand panel. Google Sites automatically builds a navigation menu from your page list, which you can reorder by dragging.
Step 4: Publish
Click Publish in the top-right corner, choose a web address ending in sites.google.com, or enter a custom domain you already own to map it instead. Your site goes live immediately.
Step 5: Add Basic SEO
In site settings, add a site description and a custom favicon. Submit your published URL to Google Search Console manually, since Google Sites does not do this automatically.
